Lord March looks up to ace Lampkin – from his lawn!

TWELVE times World Champion trials rider Dougie Lampkin thrilled the Goodwood crowds all weekend, riding his Beta machine over places no one else would dream of - including the roof of Goodwood House after powering up the stairs.

Host the Earl of March laughed about this at the award presentation where affable Dougie got the trophy for Driver of the Day - then the rider said there was one place he hadn't been and pointed at the earl's front lawn.

Charles March has frequently proved he is game for anything and this time he laid down in his suit with no crash protection as the ace blipped his throttle.

He circled then neatly hopped over his host. A relieved Lord March said: "I thought my worries were over when I got to the prizegiving!"
