A NEW diamond jewellers specialising in ethically sourced gems is to open in Winchester.
Parchment Jewellers, located on Parchment Street off Winchester High Street, is the brainchild of fourth generation diamond jeweller, David Hill.
The source of precious stones is a controversial issue, highlighted by Hollywood star Leonardo Di Caprio in the recent film Blood Diamond, pictured, which focussed on so-called conflict diamonds from war zones.

"Diamonds have been a part of my family over one hundred years so I'm looking forward to utilising this expertise here in Hampshire," said Mr Hill."
He hand selects diamonds to ensure they are of ethical origin.
"Our invoices include a guarantee stating that all diamonds sold are conflict-free and of the highest gem' quality," he added.
