Work ExDi the funny

Went to see and listen to the London Welsh Male Voice Choir at Fareham last week and had a great time.

I was not too sure I would enjoy the evening but it was fantastic.

Although I tried my best not to do a John Redmond and sing "dum-di-dum" while looking sheepish during the Welsh National Anthem at the very end.

But the best bit was chatting with 'Torchy' (One of the choir) in the bar beforehand.

It seems that all the choir have nicknames. Our chum, as I said was 'Torchy' but he told of one of the members who now lives in Battersea who is know as 'Di the Dog'.

Another who has only two front teeth - Thats 'Di Central Heating'

Or the chap who lost half an ear who is know as '18 Months' - A yer and a half -

CLASSIC

Now why is it that when I have a bash at painting I end up with dry lips?

No, I don't paint my lips.

I can only think that I keep licking them, unless of course there is something in the paint.

Could be its done on purpose to make you go out again and buy some lip balm.

No, that can't be right - Dulux lip balm - never seen it.
Work ExBlackest Day of the Year
Posted by Work Ex at 3:40pm on Mon 22 Jan 07
Today, it seems is the 'darkest' day of the year ('according to the latest research' - good phrase, eh!)

Its Blue Monday, officially the saddest day of the year.

Today's Echo tells us...

Using a mathematical equation, Dr Cliff Arnall, a motivational expert, has found that January 22 is the day when those bulging waistlines, empty bank accounts and broken new year’s resolutions really start to weigh us down.
In fact, the Samaritans estimate that during January alone they receive a call every six seconds from people suffering from post-Christmas depression.
For many, the experience goes way beyond merely feeling down after the excitement and euphoria of Christmas time.
It is estimated that half a million people in the UK suffer from SAD – Seasonal Affective Disorder. About 20 per cent experience very mild SAD during the winter months, while between one and three per cent of people in the UK suffer from much more severe symptoms.

Well, so far, all seems ok here at 'Froth HQ' Mind you I have to get home yet.

Perhaps it will be worse when we have Global Warming... No it will be better as it will be summer all year long, no high winter fuel bills and everyone stripped to the waist.

There you go I'm cheered up no-end.
Work ExChristmas - All done and dusted.

Well, thats that for another year.

So much build-up with everything focused on 'Christmas' then its over in a flash.

I think the thing that 'drives' christmas is the familiarity:-
Getting the tree
decorating the house
the carol services
getting the turkey
cooking the beast
crackers and funny hats
This is waht makes a good christmas

PLUS

meeting old friends and remembering ones you have not met for years.

Fun.
