Flashdance The Musical

STARS of stage and screen Bruno Langley, Bernie Nolan, Noel Sullivan and Victoria Hamilton-Barritt are to star in Flashdance The Musical when it stops in Southampton on its world premiere tour next week.

Set in Pittsburgh, USA, Flashdance - The Musical tells the story of 18 year old Alex, a welder by day and flashdancer' by night, whose dream is to obtain a place at the prestigious Shipley Dance Academy.

This tale about holding on to your dreams and love against all the odds features an iconic score including Maniac, Manhunt, Gloria, I Love Rock and Roll and the Academy Award winning title track Flashdance - What a Feeling.

It is based on the Paramount Pictures film and choreographed by Arlene Phillips of Strictly Come Dancing fame.

Taking the lead of Alex Owens will be Victoria Hamilton-Barritt. Victoria's West End theatre credits include Mamma Mia!, Fame and Desperately Seeking Susan.

Bruno Langley, best known for playing Todd Grimshaw in Coronation Street, will play Jimmy.

The lead singer of the Nolan Sisters and a TV regular in Brookside and The Bill, Bernie plays Hannah Owens.

Nick is played by Noel Sullivan, best known as one fifth of the band Hear'say.
