This weeks winning tip
This week regular money saving tip contributor
Sheila Clayton, 77, of Bassett,
Southampton, has come up trumps with her advice
for saving water.
She said: "If you have metered water and are waiting
for hot water to come out of the taps save the cold
water that comes out beforehand. You can use this for
watering plants in the house and garden. Also, when you
boil the kettle put any water that is left over in a flask to
keep warm and use throughout the day for drinks or to
top up your washing up water - this saves money on
electricity too."
By reducing wasting water by just ten per cent
you could save around £25 on a metered
water bill according to the Consumer
Council for water - certainly no
drop in the ocean!
