TWO Hampshire schools have made
it into the final of a national environmental
competition launched by TV personalities Fearne
Cotton, pictured, and Piers Morgan.
Cantell Maths and Computing College, in
Southampton, and Henry Cort Community
College, in Fareham, were among just ten
schools across Britain to be shortlisted in the
npower Green SOS competition.
The Year 7 students had to identify a local
environmental project in their community
that needed help and make a short video
about the project.
The project identified by Cantell was to
encourage people to switch off and save
energy. The students will monitor energy
usage and look to invest in energy
monitors.
Henry Cort students want to encourage
recycling across their school, from
classrooms to the kitchen.
As finalists, the students will receive
£1,000 to help their team solve their
project, a video camera to document
their progress and a five-day green
Outward Bound course at Ullswater,
in the Lake District.

They will also sharpen up on
their media skills with a training
day run by Britain's Got Talent
judge and former Mirror editor
Piers Morgan.
The winning project will be
selected in 2009 and will receive
£20,000 for a green' school
makeover. Each of the ten participating
students will receive a Mac
notebook.

BRAINWASHING.
Ice not melting, increasing. Polar bears not struggling, thriving. Temperature not increasing, decreasing. Stick that in your carbon pipe and smoke it.
Its the sun, its the sun, its the sun.

I agree the green thing is being sexed up massively, and in particular man's part in it. But lets not say it's simultaneously not happening AND being caused by something else. Only gives fuel to the brainwashers!
