Cash injection for African adventure
A GROUP of Scouts will be medically prepared on an African charity adventure this summer thanks to a community grant.
Members of the 1st Poulner Scouts have been handed more than £3,000 by the Co-operative to pay for inoculations and anti-malaria medication ahead of their trip of a lifetime.
The 20-strong party is heading to Malawi in August to encourage Scouting and develop schools in the Mzuzu and Bandawe areas.
Scout group leader Colin Andrews said: "We are very grateful to the Co-operative for helping us keep the boys safe while they're away.
"The trip will be an experience of a lifetime and we hope it will have a lasting influence on how they view people of different cultures and ethnic backgrounds."
Members of the group are pictured above thanking Kim Marshall from the Co-operative Travel branch in Ringwood for their award.
