Charity for families needs two trustees

A WINCHESTER-based charity which provides a vital information service to families is appealing for more trustees.

The Hampshire Children and Families Forum needs two trustees, including one with a finance background, to help guide it through major structural changes.

The shake-up, since the arrival of chief executive Cedric Riley last year, includes the reorganisation of its co-ordinators to reflect the 11 district councils.

The charity was founded eight years ago to create one countywide organisation that could represent parents at local, county and national levels.

Chairman of the trustees Alun Parry-Jones said: "Trustees are part of the governing body, where final decisions are made. Most importantly the trustees ensure the values and spirit of HCFF are kept alive."

The trustees meet about eight times a year. There are no specific qualifications required, but applicants should have integrity, an ability to think creatively and be able to give strategic direction to the organisation. Anyone interested in finding out more should contact Cedric Riley on 01962 857379.
