Eastleigh winger continues to impress
 |
| Mark Marshall |
DASHING winger Mark Marshall has given Swindon Town more food for thought with an exhilarating performance for Eastleigh against Torquay United.
The pacy 21-year-old wideman was voted man-of-the-match as Eastleigh clipped the Gulls' wings 3-2 on penalties to book a showdown with Chertsey at Bideford today (3pm) in the Errea South West Challenge Tournament.
After nearly three weeks of trials with Swindon, Marshall asked to stay with the Robins rather than rejoin Eastleigh on their pre-season tour in north Devon.
Spitfires boss Ian Baird put his foot down, however, and was pleased to report that Marshall had returned to the squad with a positive mental attitude.
"There are two things you can do in Marshy's position," he said. "You can walk around sulking or realise that you won't do yourself any harm by playing well.
"The Swindon thing is not dead and I'm sure if they're keeping tabs on him, they would have had someone watching him against Torquay."

[italic]italic[/italic] Well done Ian, a lot of players at all levels are getting far too big for their boots! I don't see the point in them signing contracts if they can ride rough shod over their employers and us relatively low paid but ever loyal fans.
