He's a great player on his day, but like most of the squad he's very much a confidence player.
I think perhaps we expect too much of him, forgetting that he is still only 21 or so.

I'd go for a midfield of (l-r) Euell, Surman, Safri and Dyer, with places on the bench for Viafara and Hammill.
If we still had Skacel though, he'd be the first name down on the team sheet every time.

he has lost a lot of stamina and confidence this season, but hopefully he can play differently under the new manager, maybe keep him in the left back slot

I believe Drew Surman is a Southampton lad and really does care about what happens to 'his' Club which is more than can be said about most of the players at the Club at the moment. I don't think he will jump ship if we stay up - he is getting in the England Under 21 squad even though he is playing at Saints.

Agree with Dan, Soton's line up though would not play Thomas, he's just a bit of a donkey to be honest, especially considering how well Perry and Lucketti played together.
